The Gaiety Theatre is in Zeehan, on the west coast of Tasmania. Archibald Douglas Sligo (NZ/Australian, 1866–1938) was a printer and mining entrepreneur who “epitomized community pride and promoted a sense of self-worth among his fellows.” Ref: ADB.
