J.C. Squire (1884–1958), English writer and editor of the London Mercury, has dedicated this copy to Edward Neville da Costa Andrade (British, 1887–1971), who was famous for his breakthrough scientific work on gamma rays, and was also a published poet and literary enthusiast.
