Mary Mackay (English, 1855–1924) known by her pseudonym Marie Corelli, was a fantasy & romance novelist concerned with reincarnation, astral projection and mysticism. Although she was widely ridiculed when published, her work has recently been reissued and re-examined for its engagement with gender and genre. Oscar Wilde and Queen Victoria were reportedly among her biggest fans. Ref: Wiki.
