In 1948 Donald Bradman was making his fourth and final tour of England for the Ashes series. The Australian team under Bradman’s captainship is famous for being the first test match side to play an entire tour of England without losing a match, which earned them the name “The Invincibles,” one of the greatest cricket teams of all time.
The SS Orontes serviced the route between England and Australia in 1948.
