Cook’s Nile Service Paddle Steamer “Rameses III”, 1905.

Format: Letterpress and lithograph passenger list card, 10.9 x 7cm (folded).

Text includes “List of passengers by P.S. Rameses the III leaving Cairo December 26th, 1905. Manager Mr L. Dombre. Doctor: Dr N.N.A. Houghton M.D.”

Among the list of passengers is no. 10, “Mr W.B. Northrup M.P.”, the Canadian Conservative Member of Parliament for Ontario. Other passengers would have been wealthy British, American, Russian and European travellers, heading up the river in peak season.

Rameses III was a first class paddle steamer built in 1893.
