The works shown in this catalogue were part of the National Gallery of Australia’s 1993 exhibition “Surrealism: Revolution by Night.” The exhibition included a selection of original and ‘recreated’ works by Barry Humphries from the 1950s and 60s, when he claimed to be Australia’s first Dada artist. “Many of the pieces from this period, made from food, literally decomposed during exhibition.”
